Project Description
When you need to know what’s happening inside your material—without cutting, dismantling, or disrupting operations—VAIC’s Ultrasonic Testing (UT) delivers. UT is one of the most trusted inspection methods for detecting internal flaws and monitoring corrosion, giving you real insight into asset condition so you can prevent failures, plan maintenance smarter, and extend equipment life.
With VAIC, UT is not just “inspection”—it’s actionable integrity intelligence, delivered by certified inspectors under strict QHSE execution.
Inspection technique
UT uses high-frequency sound waves introduced into a component. Reflections from internal discontinuities or the back wall are analyzed to detect and size defects and to measure thickness.
VAIC uses professional ultrasonic instruments and calibrated probes, with validated inspection procedures and clear reporting. Where access is challenging, our teams use portable solutions and advanced scanning techniques to improve coverage and reduce uncertainty.
Applications
UT is ideal for:
Thickness measurement & corrosion monitoring on pipelines, tanks, and vessels
Weld inspection (internal discontinuities, lack of fusion, cracking)
Pressure vessels and piping systems in service
Storage tanks (shell and critical zones thickness trending)
Verification during shutdowns and turnarounds
Quality control for fabrication and maintenance
