Project Description

When you’re dealing with steel structures, welds, and high-stress components, cracks can start small—and turn into costly failures fast. VAIC’s Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI) is a powerful, rapid inspection solution designed to reveal surface and near-surface defects before they compromise safety, uptime, or compliance.
It’s the perfect balance of speed + reliability, giving you clear results you can trust—delivered by certified inspectors working with strict QHSE discipline to protect your site, your teams, and your production targets.

Inspection technique

MPI works by applying a controlled magnetic field to a ferromagnetic material. When a discontinuity (like a crack) is present, it disturbs the magnetic flux and creates leakage at the surface. By applying magnetic particles (dry or wet), these leakages become visible indications, allowing precise detection and evaluation.
VAIC uses professional-grade magnetic equipment and inspection consumables, with careful control of surface condition, magnetization direction and interpretation. So results are repeatable, traceable, and decision-ready.

Applications

MPI is widely used for:

Weld inspections on pipelines, structures, and fabrication works

Steel structures (fatigue cracking, stress zones, supports)

Lifting equipment components (hooks, shackles, load-bearing parts)

Pressure equipment parts and high-stress attachments

Maintenance and shutdown inspections to prevent surprise failures

Post-repair verification to confirm defect removal
