Project Description
When you need rapid, high-sensitivity detection—especially for surface and near-surface flaws—VAIC’s Eddy Current Testing (ECT) delivers speed with precision. It’s ideal for industries where performance depends on catching early cracking, damage, or degradation before it escalates.
Our certified experts deploy eddy current solutions designed for productivity and repeatability, supported by advanced electromagnetic inspection technologies from leading manufacturers such as Eddyfi.
Inspection technique
ECT uses electromagnetic induction to generate eddy currents in conductive materials. Discontinuities disrupt these currents, producing measurable signal changes. Depending on the application, array-based techniques can significantly increase coverage and speed while improving detection consistency.
VAIC optimizes probe selection, scanning approach, and signal interpretation to ensure results are accurate, reliable, and easy to act upon.
Applications
ECT/ECA is commonly used for:
Crack detection in conductive materials
Weld toe and HAZ screening for early cracking
Surface inspection in high-productivity environments
Heat exchanger and tubing inspection use cases
Component screening during maintenance programs
Targeted verification where fast results are needed
